What to expect from the Photographer...for the Home Owner
Upon arrival, after introductions, the photographer will need to take a quick tour of your property both inside and outside. They will have you show them through your home and if you have not done so already, will switch lights on as you go. At this point it is a good time to discuss the appearance of each room and make any minor changes necessary to ensure each is presented at its very best. It is expected that your house is ready for photographing and presented as you want it to look for the photographs. Our photographers are happy to make suggestions for small adjustments that will help enhance the photography of the property. For example, the placement of decorative pieces such as fruit bowls, vases of flowers, magazines, etc and even the movement of of smaller pieces of furniture. If you are unable to be present at the time of photographing, the photographer will assume all is prepared and will only make adjustments when there has been prior discussion and permissions obtained from you.
We understand that putting your house on the market can be an extremely stressful and hectic time and sometimes things may get overlooked. Our photographers are therefore very good at providing work-arounds where needed and making changes where possible. However, it is always best to be prepared and have the property ready to go for when the photographer arrives with everything in place. This way the shoot will be efficient and the photographer can get the best photos of your property within the allotted time.
Twilight photos are a little longer than a daylight shoot. The photographer will arrive a little earlier than dusk and begin shooting various rooms in the home first.
For a twilight shoot the main focus at dusk is on the outside of the home, pool/ entertainment areas and frontages with glowing windows that you can see into. It is important to leave all lights on until the photographer has packed up and is ready to go as they need as much light as they can get at this time. The photographer may also return inside and do more internal shots too depending on the property and opportunities available, like a sunset view through a living room window.
As each home is different, each have their own shoot requirements and focus may be on different areas during twilight time. For instance, if there is a sparkling city light view from a balcony or a gorgeous sunset opportunity by the pool.
Once the photo shoot begins it is recommended you leave the photographer to concentrate by either going for a walk or drive or tucking yourself away in a room. This way you will not find yourself inadvertently walking into shot. The photographer will advise you as to how long the shoot will take which is often dependent on the size of the home and type of shoot booked.
We will have your photos ready for download within 24 hours for you or the Agent who is handling your property.
